2004 has been a busy year for us here at MHR. We have continued planting the demonstration rose garden with not only roses, but Iris', chrysanthemums, Chinese fox gloves, Tansy (which is a place that lady bugs love to lay their eggs in), artemesia, white sage, papavar poppies, Columbines, lamb ears, a beautiful assortment of sedum, oregano, thyme, alliums, Canterbury bells, Redwood trees, Birch trees, and so much more. These plants and others will provide excellent environment and food source for beneficial insects and act as pest control to the unwanted pests. We have a great new stock of baby roses that have been potted up into 2-gallon pots to harden up for spring sales next year. I will update their availability later in the season when I have a better idea of what we will have for sale. The beauty masks the hard work gone into our project, and summer time heat will put a halt on planting for the next few months, where the huge importance of watering and weeding will assume all priorities. As planned from the beginning, our rose garden layout is designed for the intention of plant identification. They are categorized by species of the following: Centifolia, Moss, Damask, Gallica, Alba, China, Portland, Bourbon, Noisette, Tea, Pimpinellifolia, Hybrid Musk, Hybrid perpetual, Sweet Briars, Multiflora, Sempervirens and Wichuraiana Ramblers. We have been adding structure with custom built pillars, from www.sylvanwoods.com which will also be available for purchase, as well as other fine garden structures hardy enough to carry the huge canes and flowers of our rambling roses. Will and Shannon are delighted to have conservator ship of these old precious roses, and look forward to meeting many new and interesting people from all over who share the joy we do in having heritage roses all around us. We look forward also to future distillation of roses as well as lavender, oregano and other fine medicinal plants for the incredible healing powers these amazing plants posses. Come visit us again as we are continually updating our website. Color photos will be added soon to the inventory list. Thank you for your patience. Also available to our customers, high-quality therapeutic grade A Essential Oils. Just mention Essential Oils in your inquiry or visit my website at shannon.younglivingworld.com |
